Recently in our church we have had several babies born to our members and just like those newborn babies need to grow, newborn babes in Christ must grow.

Today I want to talk about 2 Peter 2: 2 and 3:18. In these verses of scriptures it tells us that newborn babies desire the sincere or pure milk of the Word so they might grow, and that as Christians we must grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

There is a necessity for Spiritual growth. Just like milk is necessary for a baby to grow it is necessary for a Christian’s Spiritual growth to feed on the Word of God.

There is a mixture of Spiritual growth. We must grow in grace and grow in knowledge.

Last of all there is a nature of Spiritual Growth. As a Christian it is our desire to become mature Christians so we will be fully equipped to do God’s will.

We must remember what it says in John 3:30 “He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less”.
